The BF and I love to have crackers and a cream cheese dip of some type once in a while. A while back I came across a dip made with strained yogurt— sun dried tomatoes, either in oil or just dried, no oil and finely diced basil . The recipe called for the tomatoes in oil but I had just had the dried. It called for a pinch of salt, which I skipped, and they used Thai basil and I had regular. Here is the breakdown of the difference in macros. This breakdown is based on the tomatoes in oil. Actually both are delicious so just a personal preference. We like this recipe so much that I think that for the most part cream cheese will be a thing of the past for this particular application. There isn’t a recipe per sae. You put the yogurt in a colander using cheese cloth or other roughly woven material, probably even a coffee filter and let the whey drain away. I left it for four hours and then squeezed to remove as much liquid as I could. Added the other ingredients and kept in the fridge till dinner to meld the flavors. Even better the next day.

This breakdown is for 1/4 cup of dip The yogurt that this is based on is called Greek Gods— traditional plain yogurt. It’s my favorite
This is just an example of not giving up the things you love but being open to tweaking things a bit. Sorry, the alignment got screwed up
