I haven't done so well with being vegetarian. But I did start cutting back how much I eat and what I'm putting in my mouth. I am doing a lot with my workouts walking every day, and using my dumbbells. I have a goal of getting gastric bypass next year,so I have started eating high protein low carbs and began sticking to 1600 calories like the doctor put me on. I'm really needing the surgery before things get worse on my health. I did join the gym and I'm glad I did.

You’re doing great. Every step is one step closer to your goal.

Nothing has to be perfect! Steps in the right direction are still steps. I've been trying to go more plant-based myself, but there are days it's not happening and things I've learned I'm willing to reduce but not eliminate

Gastric bypass has been the solution for lots of people. I wish for you too.

Morgan, that 1600 calorie limit will help you more than anything else. Glad you’re figuring that out. Keep us posted.

If you stick to 1600, which sounds like your calorie deficit amounts assigned by the Dr, you will lose weight. The high protein low carb helps too. Sugar and processed foods are your enemy!

Sounds like you're heading in the right direction. Gastric bypass probably saved my life but I still have lots of issues. It is not a cure-all but sometimes is necessary. Good luck to you.

I was approved for the surgery, but decided to try it on my own. It's been slow but successful.

Also, if you aren’t doing so good w being a vegetarian, I feel it’s because need meat! We are carnivores, in my opinion.

Watch Dr. Paul Mason on YouTube. He is excellent. I agree with Stormy and I tried going vegetarian for years, it didn't go so well. I currently am eating more protein and it feels great.

I'll agree that vegetarian or vegan diets don't work for everyone, but there are plenty of healthy and happy vegetarians and vegans out there, including several in my circles. You don't need meat to be healthy. It's a choice. If you want to go vegetarian or vegan, you might check out the Nutrition Made Simple channel on YouTube.
