Question to those who have done it. How do you deal with loose skin? I'm about halfway through losing 60kg and I'm already noticing some sagging. It's really frustrating because I know I'll never willingly go for surgery unless it's a medical emergency. They say the younger you are, the better your chances for skin elasticity, but is early 20's still considered young in that regard? So many questions that will only be answered once I get there.

some of what i am about to say is things i have not tried personally but i hear drinking gelatin, collagen can assist with loose skin. I think fasting also helps as at some point in fasting window (if you fast long enough), there is a process called autophagy which essentially means cell regeneration and that also helps deal/prevent loose skin as one looses a lot of weight. I fast but still in the game to see effects of autophagy. I hope the info helps

Yes! @MaoetsiN, you nailed it on the head. Autophagy is the way to go, for a natural way of dealing with loose skin. Autophagy only start at around 36 hours of fasting & peaks at 42 hours if I'm not mistaken. @Gee2021, google Dr Jason Fung & Megan Ramos, they are experts in this field. There is also a Facebook group for fasting. I've learned so much from them. But keep in mind that autophagy is not an overnight process. Good luck on the rest of your journey though!

I wish I could find a product that works for loose skin, unfortunately I only started my weight loss journey just before I turned 30 and now at 47 I am finally at my goal weight, after losing more than 70 kgs all together, I have quite a bit of loose skin. I do use a collagen cream and I do IF daily with longer fasts bi monthly, I also work out at least 5 times a week to try and help the situation. I do think the younger you are and the rate at which you loose your weight plays a big factor in the loose skin you will have. I personally am too scared of surgery and to be honest I would still rather have the bit of loose skin I have now than have my 70kgs back that I have already lost. Best of luck for the rest of your journey!

You’re still young, loose skin naturally contracts over time. It will take a long while, at least a few months depending on the severity. Skin removal surgery is usually the option taken by people weighing in at 300kg.

You are still young it will contract with time. Keep on doing what you're doing, exercise and try some collagen creams as well.

Building some muscle will also help to get a 'tighter' look :)

@leksie Autophagy helped me with my skin and dark spots. It really regenerates skin cells. So, they can try it. It made my sister in law’s stretchmarks lighter too. I highly recommend that thing. A 72 hour water fast twice a month does the trick for me.

I have lost over 60kgs at the age Of 20 and sorry to be the bearer of bad news! Surgery is the only option ! I’m in the process of saving for a tummy tuck but it’s extremely expensive and medical aid doesn’t cover! You can firm up but it won’t disappear! I found when I had to put on weight because I suffered from a ED it got worse!! I hope you find happiness in self and love yourself for who you are! You are beautiful and not defined by your body !! Well done on the weight loss you should be proud of yourself ❤️

I’m with liora on this. Sorry about the bad news on that front but no matter what you do, if the skin has stretched out a lot it will never bounce back 100%. Especially if you’ve got stretch marks.
