Blessed Sunday!

First things first, my niece Jillian has been readmitted to the hospital because the symptoms of her brain tumor have worsened. She was only home with the new baby for one full day before she had to return. The plan was to do the surgery to remove the tumor on 10/21. I don't know if this will move things up, or if they will try to treat the symptoms until then. I have a lot of faith in her neurosurgeon. I'm sure he will do what is best for her. Please continue to pray for Jillian and her 5 day old baby boy, Abram.

I'm enjoying a nice weekend with DS#4's family here at the lodge. DS#4 got a buck bow hunting here yesterday. It was a nice 2 1/2 year old 8-point. He says we have at least 3 nice bucks hanging around. DIL#5 and her boys came over and joined us for dinner last night. The kids all swam in the pool with GoodMan while I fixed dinner. Later the adult males watched the U of M game and the adult females watched a movie "What to Expect While You're Expecting".

Saturday afternoon GoodMan and I went to Reed City to do yard work on the house we have up for sale. I used a backpack leaf blower and walked around the yard for 2 1/2 hours blowing leaves. My right arm and right leg are really sore! While there a guy showed up asking about the house. I had shown it to him and his wife about a month ago. Since they hadn't contacted us or our Real Estate agent we assumed they weren't interested. He said he had to go out of town for business right after we saw him the first time and he told his wife he would put in an offer as soon as he returned. When he returned he contacted an agent and gave the guy his offer, the guy called our agent's office. They told him we were negotiating with someone else and never took his offer...I don't know who dropped the ball. His agent? Our agent's office? I don't know, but I'm glad he stopped by yesterday. He didn't tell us what his offer was, but since the offer currently on the table is so shakey/goofy/suspect we are interested in hearing his. {He told us he is willing to wait to see if the current goofy offer expires - which we fully expect to happen}

And on the health and fitness side of life...I bought a Fitbit Flex on eBay. It arrived in the mail yesterday. Unfortunately I didn't get it set up BEFORE I did 2 1/2 hours of leaf blowing. I would have enjoyed seeing how many steps I took! I hope this tool helps me as I incorporate more movement in my day.

All things food ~ I ate more than normal yesterday, but not above my RDI, and not outside of my lifestyle plan, so I' okay with that. I'm making meal plans for my time downstate staying with my sister and going over to take care of my mother for 4 days. Today I plan to get my laundry all done and then make some chicken salad, seafood salad, and egg salad for GoodMan to eat while I'm gone (he loves "salad sandwiches" in pita pockets.) I have a recorded weigh-in scheduled before I leave and another on scheduled for the morning after I return so we'll see how I do.

Make your Sunday spectacular!!

Jillian is still in my prayers, as well as little Abram and your family. Prayer is so powerful--especially when MANY people pray together. Who else is willing to pray for this family besides dreamcatcher10 and myself??? God is listening!

Thanks for your encouragement and prayers ladies! I just heard from my sister, Jillian's mom. The neurosurgeon on call this weekend scheduled tests to enable them to move the surgery up to 10/14. They are concerned about a murmur they have been hearing in Jillian's heart. She has never had a murmur, so they are doing a lot of testing to make sure she can handle the surgery. Her OB says it is just the stress from the C-section and it will go away on its own in the next week, but whatever the cause the neurosurgeon wants to make sure she is in good shape before they do the long brain surgery on Tuesday. I will be down there tomorrow night and have offered to watch the 2 1/2 year-old and the new baby while the rest of the family is at the hospital. I will also be taking care of my 87-year-old mom here and there as necessary. She lives on her own, but needs someone to check in on her and get her meals, etc. My 3 sisters and one brother have been sharing the care of her for the past 3 years (I took care of her myself for 18 years before that). Everyone is either out of town, sick, or taking care of sick family members so I'm on call - and happy to be of help!
