Great Family Weekend!

My son kept his promise and completed all homework assignments at his after school program, so we kept our promise with the reward of roller skating on Friday night. With the weather being so nice, the complex where we skate was very quiet! We pretty much had the place to ourselves. So we traded on and off between the roller skating with my son, and running around the turf room with my daughter. My husband and I felt a great deal of nostalgia to our old roller skating days as kids. I'm sure we'll go back there again soon. If my son keeps up with the finishing homework at school instead of at home, he's chosen swimming at the YMCA as this weeks reward. I LOVE that the things he picks are PHYSICAL activities and not things such as playing video games, or going to a movie. I'm proud of him on so many levels!

We were blessed with wonderful weather, so after nap time on Saturday, we took the kids for a gas tank getaway to a corn maze. The family that runs the maze have so many wonderful activities for kids above and beyond the maze itself. Kids loved the straw maze which was a multi-tiered maze [3 levels] that ended with on a slide. I had to do it too...only to encourage my daughter to get through it. Of course (wink - wink).

Sunday we did a lot of outdoor work. We pretty much grass-seeded our whole yard after some construction work we had completed this past week. And, on top of the grass we had to lay straw. It was a lot of work, but a nice day to be out and getting it done.

So back to work and back to routine...which is way more relaxed than my weekends, lately. I got my time at the gym on my lunch hour and completed a nice little Tabata routine. Those always keep me moving :-)

With Halloween approaching, so are the fun 'scary' events. I've signed up to do a 5K zombie run that will take place next week. Just me, this time. I've done runs this summer with my kids, my husband, and with my nephew, but this one I'm doing just on my own. It's a trail run with obstacles...and zombies. Ends at a local pub dubbed the "Quarantine Zone". OMG...this is gonna be a hoot!

Feeling good and doing well. I hope it's the same for all of you. Have a great start to your week everyone!!!
