A couple things.

1). Love seeing jaws drop when I tell people that I have lost 150 pounds and did it on my own!

2). I will never buy a 25.00 Gift Certificate for 2.00 on Restaurant.com to a place that i know nothing about. Hence the free day on my log. All they had was a lot of fried stuff, huge fatty meats, and serving sizes that you could feed three people with. The thing is I just threw in the towel because it was just my wife (who has lost 85 pounds) and me and we had to spend 35.00 to get the 25.00 off the bill. So I went with the pork chops and found out they are breaded and fried and she had the small ribeye which turned out to be the size of the plate. Man I would not want to see the size of the Delmonico ribeye that was on the menu. I came away from that meal feeling like the person I was before I started my journey back this time last year. I don't feel bad about eating that much because I know in my heart that will not happen again. The over all effect on my body will be minimal in the long run, but the feeling of sitting at a place and gorging myself was not fun plus back then I use to go to places like that several times a week and eat the same amount or more each time. I can tell I'm a different person than I was. I actually have feelings about a meal I consumed instead of just the ol' "Man I'm full but that was delicious", "I need to take a nap", and going on with life with the incorrect knowledge in my head that I will always be FAT. So this goes to show you that 90% of loosing fat comes from your thoughts and feelings and 10% is actions.

You're so right! Since I started eating in moderation, I noticed that when I go out, everywhere seems to have HUGE portion sizes where before I just thought they were adequate! It's all about perspective and all really how you feel about it.

I completely agree with you DJ. Most of what you have to do is Mental. And once you set your mind to it, your body follows. :) You also have to find the motivation yourself, no one can make you. And going from saying you want to lose weight to doing it is a huge step. The most important one. :) Your doing Great DJ, hope you have a Wonderful day. ^.^

Well that is a bummer about the r.com deal.. I have been pretty lucky.. but then all the ones that I have gotten had an online menu.. so I was able to weed out the fried food fest ones... now after reading your warning.. I will not buy one from a place that does not have an online menu for me to at least look at.. congrats on the 150.. and I am glad to hear your wife is doing so well also! It must be so much easier having both of you with weight loss goals.. (not that my husband makes it hard.. but I am sure it would be easier if he were trying to lose weight also) I really do agree with the mental part of losing weight.. if it is not in your head to do it.. you will have a hard time finding success. AS is usual great job. :)

I love restuarant.com... BUT I always chose places that i know the menu.. i did get a certificate there that I have used yet..becuase i checked out the menu on line and it was a Muslim restuarant and i wasn't very familiar with the meals..so the certificate sits in my pocketbook..waiting for a chance for me to get brave!! so glad to hear that your wife is eating healthy as well!!! and super congrats on the 150 lost.. i think a new pic is definetely needed!!!!
