I weigh myself everyday. I know some people don't agree with that but it keeps me on track. When I do not see a loss everyday (which i know will happen often) I look back to what my weight was exactly one week prior so that is another way daily weigh-ins help.

Key is weighing at the same time on the same scale and in the buff, and average it out weekly, so I’ve read. The slight gains have to do with fluids retained by sodium and other variables.

Me 2 - and averaging by the week and comparing your own data is a great idea. I am now weighing at night and in the morning - just to ensure that everything is moving in the right direction - it only takes a few days to derail. I have no interest in derailing. Weighing in the buff and at the same time every day and recording - so now I can use my calculator - and chart the differences. Thank you.

Many people may disagree - there is not one person with a scale who does not do the same thing.

I don't think people disagree in the sense that you can do whatever you like. They just say the variations depresses them, so they would rather observe a trend. Many like Rick do both, using daily plus average or for number nerds, a seven or fourteen day moving average.

Eral66 - I agree -It is all a matter of expression - people do so state "Do not weigh yourself every day" - for whatever their personal reason - but people still do so weigh themselves each day. It is all a matter of expression - BUT - OR HOWEVER there is an understanding of the concept. It is highly interesting - to me - the concept of averaging - my own weigh loss - since I live there and also - I have never heard of that type of personal data collection or the results of compilation of such data. For people - like me - that is a highly viable objective - often called a good idea. It is reaffirming to me on a daily basis to chart my own progress...Self Affirmation towards a goal is a positive feature. I am not a number nerd - I have a huge interest in anything that promotes my own motivation for the accomplishment of a goal - set to save my own life. Whatever non-cost tool that I can use to keep myself focused on the goal - since - for ME - This is a situation of either "Learn or Die" - Time is up.

Usually - On my own personal basis - I do not reward negativity of any type with attention. I miss those positive people - who were projecting positivity and ran into the stonewall of depressive expression. I never usually reward that type of behaviour with any attention at all - regardless of what day it is. I am an old "Vintage" type Mother of numerous children - many that I never gave birth too - and - I did not change - I do not usually reward negative behaviours with attention. You have to wait for that - until I get back down to my "Fighting Weight" - until then - I am positive that negativity - (RIP) will continue to mire around in its own mess.... and likes attract.

Hey, we each need to do what works for us. If weighing your self every day helps keep you on track, great! Keep up the good work. 🥰

Weigh myself daily but also have a rolling month calculator bia Model my Diet. The daily ups and downs I note but it is the rolling average that changes my behavior. Whatever rocks your motivation is the thing to do.
