Regardless of the time of day - when you have CI every day then your body always has food that is being processed in one way or another. The food that you took in yesterday is still in process the morning after. In the 24 period - there is no real "empty" time frame - but it makes logical sense that after the night of sleeping when you are not eating - and after using the bathroom - then your body should be at its lightest weight - before you put more food weight in. Even an eight ounce glass of water has weight.

I know that it can be frustrating when you follow the food plan exactly ... and then get on the scale in the morning and have gained even 2 ounces...but the is a part of the wight of the undigested foods eaten the day before. It is a constant but over time is when there is a body change difference.

Who am I to give input to a woman who has lost almost 250 lbs ! But anyways, I weigh myself once a week on Saturday morning. If you understand how all the daily fluctuations work but are true to your eating plan that should be enough. A week of eating under RDI should compensate for any bulk in your system or water weigh fluctuations so you should see a loss or at least remain stable. What I do is if the scale goes up more than an a half lb, I weigh again on Sunday, and sometimes Monday to make sure it swings back down. You have been so successful in your journey maybe it is best not to "upset the turnip cart" and just keep doing what you have been doing all along. Stay well !

Yah no kidding - Crazycatchick - this site is about helping others with what a person knows - so we all try to give information from our small store of knowledge ---WHEN IS THE BEST TIME TO WEIGH YOURSELF ? ---- Well --- here is something that I looked up --- After you eat, it takes about six to eight hours for food to pass through your stomach and small intestine. Food then enters your large intestine (colon) for further digestion, absorption of water and, finally, elimination of undigested food. It takes about 36 hours for food to move through the entire colon. --- It is a steady process. ---- The measuring tape usually does not lie and that is where you notice a bigger difference - every two weeks - than from the scale weight taken every day.

I weigh after I wake up and before I have anything to eat/drink.

I don't own a scale so when I went for physical in July I knew from how tight my clothes were and how big my "jelly roll" was that my weight was up. sure enough doc told me to lose weight or go on cholesterol meds. started tracking calories. 2 months later had a bone density appointment and I was down 10 lbs. another month later at docs for lipid panel was down another 5. so I'm doing about 5 lbs per month. but I can tell in how my clothes feel and look. not sure if I will ever buy a scale. focusing on calories, water, and soon to be adding exercise. age 66, height 5'3" started at 176.6 lbs. so the short answer is...when you visit the doc's.

I check in the morning before getting dressed & hopefully after a good "potty" visit. it helps me to manage my food intake for the day.
