I went on a stunningly beautiful hike today! Nine wonderful miles! No sunshine but no rain either, so it was fine! My absolutely favorite way ever to get in some exercise!

You take such beautiful photographs - what an amazing place - and a "new" mushroom (ew don't touch it) Viewing your photos is like a ... breath of fresh air. So very nice. Everyone is using the same word for a reason - It is just beautiful.

Thank you all so much for enjoying nature with me!!! I am so grateful to live in the PNW where deep forest is easy to find. And, I know katsolo does find fabulous places because we see the beautiful pictures, but it is different beauty... More Dry but lovely. There aren't many rainforests in southern California I don't think! I really have been enjoying my little "weekend" away knowing I won't probably have two days off back to back for many months to come!

For the mushroom, I'd say plums and custard, tricholomopsis decora. Guides say pungent odor like rotten wood, tastes watery, edible but poor quality and not recommended. For rain forests we would need rain. Even here in the south bay area, it has not rained since late March.
