After Saturday's fabulous workout victory (see my previous journal entry for all the juicy details), I knew it was time to continue to conquer the self-defeating inner dialogue that tells me I'm not "thin enough, fit enough, or strong enough" to do the things I want to do. And, with a little coaxing from a fellow FS member (THANK YOU!), I took a pretty scary step.
For the last few months, I've been engaged in a heated staring contest with a set of P90X DVD's. And today, I did it. I dusted them off and just finished my first workout! Yay!
Was it perfect? No. Is my ponytail DRENCHED in sweat as I sit typing this? Uh huh! Did I have to do a few modifications here and there? Yes. Was it challenging? You bet it was! Did I give up? Absolutely not! But most importantly, did I let that sabotaging self-talk get in my way of accomplishing something that has been in my to-do list for months? No way! Am I going to do the second workout tomorrow? You bet I am!
I've lived too long thinking I'm not good enough, not strong enough, not thin enough. It's time to say "I am enough." and start conquering more of that to-do list!

LOVE this post!! LOVE YOUR ENERGY!!! You have done so awesome this last 6 months. I am a true P90X believer! After my second pregnancy, I lost 22.5" and 24 pounds in 3 months!!! I used their work out sheets to track reps and couldn't believe how quickly I got strong. I just got cleared to start exercising after my third and have no doubt if I do the program, I will see the same results! SEE YOU in 90 days!!

Yes, insidious self-talk is so dangerous to our mental health. Great job. I decided to search YouTube for work out videos on Saturday. I did most of one, then tried two or three others. I think I'll try the first one again to see if I can survive more than the 2 circuits of the 7 exercises. The whole work out is supposed to be 4 circuits. I would have DIED if I'd done them all! Keep up the good work.
