I've had a really great first week and have stayed on plan 100%. This weekend: the ultimate challenge...a visit to the in-laws, camping in the backyard and cookout. I'm bringing a salad and veggies, just hope that it's enough!

Whenever I'm visiting family or have a long outing, I always travel with a large cooler for all of my meals/snacks and beverages. It may make me look like a totally obsessive weirdo, but this allows myself no excuses for slip-ups and I make no apologies for not eating foods offered to me that aren't in alignment with my health goals. As long as you plan to succeed you are doing well! I also allow no excuses for slip ups, I don't have time for them and nothing tastes that good for five seconds to add another pound of fat to my body for me to work off!

good job sticking to the plan so far. best of luck with your weekend. the cooler sounds like a great idea. i would love to ride a donkey at the bottom of the grand canyon.

I recently returned from a week-long vacation to Gettysburg, PA and I brought 3 LARGE coolers packed with prepped food. The only thing I consumed that wasn't from the coolers was a cup of unsweetened organic iced green tea with lemon and cucumber I found at a local organic fair-trade coffee shop. I think I actually lost a pound or so on vacation this time! Planning, planning and more planning is the key to making this work for me.
