Hey Taralbucks, It's great having someone to go through the process with you! I began in mid-January on my own, but after losing 20 lbs in 6 weeks, my husband joined me on the Atkins journey. It's a lot more fun to have someone to talk with and share encouragement. Twenty pounds won't take you long to lose via Atkins, especially if you add in some exercise. (I spend an hour every other day walking—not strolling/shopping, LOL—at the mall.) As for the "eating fatty foods"... maybe this might help: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBDP5Y_83yQ The right fatty foods in your diet is not a bad thing. It's a necessary part of an overall healthy lifestyle. When combined in moderation with other things like exercise, fiber, vitamins, and yes, carbs, it can help contribute to a nutritional way of eating.
