I was truly excited to see an open bloom on the Mandevilla on my garden walk this morning. "Something" has been eating the buds before they could open. I think I finally conquered the problem.

I think it must have been some kind of insect infestation, Mermee. I couldn't see anything on the plant but after spraying it with diazinon a couple of times, it seemed to have done the trick. I couldn't get it to bloom. After a couple of "tricks", when the buds were damaged I was getting discouraged.
