LadyBea40's Journal, 18 June 2014

I had another pretty good day, went for my quarterly eye check up. Gotta love getting up there in age, have glaucoma and cataracts. Kind of goes with my turkey neck...it's a set. I really need to get me some sunglasses though, even with it being an overcast day for much of the day, it was just very bright outside with my eye dilation. Good news is my eye pressure is good and my doctor is very happy that my eye drops are working well. Nothing much more to write so I hope my buddies all had a grand day.

Did my exam a couple of weeks ago and I now have cataracts in both eyes. Just started wearing sunglasses last year. A bit late he said. The one he saw last year as progressed considerably, so he said to anticipate surgery. And turkey necks.... gobble gobble gobble. Been there, done that.

i work at an eye doctor. I schedule surgeries for both glaucoma and cataracts. truly, for getting "old" ... its not the worst to deal with ..even the surgery (should you need it) really isn't anything compared to what diabetics and heart patients (etc) go through... they are manageable. keep up the drops... a lot of compliant patients never see the surgery center :)

I hate when they dilate the eyes. The sun is sooo bright. Glad our old eye pressure is doing well. I have never had to use the drops ( yet ) but glaucoma runs in my family. Aren't you in the Super " BOWL " state that partakes in " herbal " medicine ? LOL

Yes I do live in the super "bowl" state, rockytu & yes Kristyanne3 I have done very well with my eye care a lot of which is because I am a diabetic. I would prefer to avoid the worst of diabetic related misery so I am doing everything to not be diabetic.

You are doing great, LadyBea! I was seeing my eye doctor every three months because my eye pressures were high. I'm not sure why, but after I lost 55 pounds and got my A1C to normal [5.0] my eye pressures dropped and the doctor said come back in six months.
