Ok things I noticed that is not good: Croissant (yuck!), frozen Danish Pastry with Nuts, French Vanilla Coffee Creamer, regular Bagel with Raisins, 1 serving Banana Muffins etc.. Ok girl, u need to lay off on sugar! All ur creamers are loaded with sugars. And say bye-bye to all the pastry stuff, it is not good 4 u at all. I wud say try atkins diet just to keep u moving down the skcale, especially since u want to loose so much weight. I am sorry but u need to give up on some of ur fave foods. I gave up on sugar long time ago and I don't want it anymore.. Keep it up! U doing great tho! Ask if u have questions! ;)

It all really depends on how zealous you are about meeting your goals. I've made the decision that I'm just not willing to live a life of complete deprivation. I cook healthy meals, my snacks have gotten less frequent and are trending more towards veggies and fruits and I'm trying to be very consistent about getting in some exercise daily. But being fairly efficient about most of the foods I eat allows me some high calorie items and I appreciate that- coffee creamer, the occassional pizza, a cookie, etc. I restrict myself to reasonable portions of these items within my overall calorie target, but have found that the balance gives me something that I'm much more likely to be able to stick with. I'm also not under any illusions that I can expect 4-5 lbs a week weight loss. You just have to figure out what your preferred approach is and make sure your goals and expectations are in line with that- and none of your friends or anyone on this website can tell you that. I can say that I've cut down my sugar quite a bit and it becomes easier as you consume less of it.

Totally agree with u gnat824! The combo of regular work out and proper diet is the best! I don't believe it is possible to loose 4-5lbs a week, unless u starve urself and it is not good at all.. So be patient and do ur thing, u can allow urself a little xtra and in moderation later, when u lost a lot but for now I recommend to cut down.. And listen to ur body!

Thanks guys! I know I really need to cut out the sugar, I didn't realize how much of it I was eating. My roommate is going to cordon bleu for pastries and cakes. I totally need to learn to walk away! Thanks for the advice! I'm going to start today with pushing out the sweets. It's a little late for the creamers, but I can start that tomorrow. Thanks again!

That's the thing about counting your calories- even if you think you know what you're eating, things jump out at out. I'm pretty impressed with some of the analysis that people on this site have to contribute. There's really a LOT of experience and helpful tips and ideas to help you succeed. :-) I'm not sure if I'll ever completely tackle sugar- I know I rely more on artificial sweeteners than I really should, but I am trying to cut back, little by little. One step at a time!
