I don't know what is wrong with me lately. The last few days I can't control my urges to eat. I know I am overeating. It has to be something wrong with me, I don't know - it is not like I am anxious about anything really, maybe bored a little because the weather has changed real quick around here - it went from spring weather, to mid-summer, to winter all in a week. My pain management doctor noted that at this time of year my pain seems to be more active than other times and usually at the end of summer I am at my best so maybe it has some relationship. I have to get this under control.

Be encouraged, you can do it.

Be encouraged! I had the very same issue this week. Very frustrating to watch ourselves overeat. What helped me was to hydrate really well the next morning - about 24 oz water before breakfast, and my regular exercise, and kept hydrating through the day. These cravings may be due to dehydration. I hope this helps!

You can do this! I am having a little “munchies” phase too. It’s understandable that pain or boredom could trigger overeating, but I also believe you’ll get a handle on it.

I am having the same issue! I just try to do my best and if I slip up and have something that’s not the healthiest I don’t beat myself up. I just go to bed ready to start again the next day. You got this!

Don't beat yourself up if you slip...stay focused on the goals you have...hoping your pain eases...always tough to be on your game when you hurt.

Thank you all for the words of encouragement. There is a lot to be said about how pain effects your ability to be on point. I will take the tip on drinking up to start the day. That can explain part of the problem because we know there is a link between being properly hydrated and feelings of hunger.

Boredom is a GREAT overeating motivator! I am still making up the ground I lost during the 4 1/2 months seniors were on lock down here in the Philippines! Pray for me as I pray for you!

One trick I use is to make myself wait 20 minutes after a snack to eat something else. I get up and do something just to help time go by. It does work. After 20 minutes, your brain will tell your stomach it's full.
