199 lbs. Day 2 in onederland. I like it here so I hope to stick around and explore lower numbers in April.
April is my oldest daughter's birthday month and she has asked me to order a special cake from Dufflet's Pastries. I am not sure if I will indulge and if truth be told, it is probable that I will not. It's not about whether I should treat myself, or if I deserve it or if I should make it a cheat day. There is still a carb addict inside of me and I do not want to trigger a carb binge and undo all the hard work I have done. My carb cravings can be insatiable and relentless. It torments me for 4 to 5 days after an indulgence kicks me out of ketosis. It doesn't seem to take a lot to do this. Before indulging I would have to ask myself if it's worth it and whether I want to spend time fighting the evil cravings that inevitably follow. Right now my answer would be no. I would rather continue my weightloss and fitness momentum with an aim to get into the 180s by end of May. This will be a lifetime WOE for me and I know there will be times when my answer will be yes, but I am still keeping myself on a short leash until I feel less vulnerable to the things that use to call my name and before I knew it half a cake was wedged into my stomach ......NEVER AGAIN!

Congrats on being in onderland! When I got into the 160's, I exclaimed That I hadn't been in the '60's since I was in my 30's!!!!! Cake...what can I say? For me, it depends whether you REALLY want it or not. I think you have to listen to YOUR needs and desires. You may really want it OR you may really not....I sometimes think that the deprivation thing is what creates that monster or carb addictive behavior....I understand about the ketosis and the metabolic process...been there, yes, it works....I am doing it now on a lesser level, so I totally understand. I think my craziness toward food was not listening to myself. There were many years for my birthday, there was steak and salad, because I did not want cake...my diet was more important. Then there are times cake is the answer. Good luck, I know its not easy...I am still on this journey.

I'm making a nut crust LC cheesecake for tomorrow. I can have my cake and eat it too...just no sugar or flour.

Good for you! Best to stay away from our triggers (at least for me). I can hardly wait to see how you feel when you reach the 180's. Cheers
