SpiffyLocksmith's Journal, 23 January 2011

biggest problem with tracking every bite I eat is that now i think about food nonstop. It makes it very hard not to note the locations of my perfectly acceptable snacks throughout my car, and smelling cooking food anywhere makes me want badly to pounce on and devout whatever I'm smelling. It's not hunger, it's that in this one area of my life I've always let myself run wild, so since I generally keep everything else under wraps, it's very hard to restrict another outlet. I'm seeing results, so I get the reward of being good at this, and in a perverse way, every time I successfully deny myself, I get to feel victory. It's like winning against yourself at chess, though. To win, you have to lose. I'm determined to be the best at this. I'm younger than most of the class, in better shape, and I know most of what she'll teach us already. The refresher is like a bucket of cold water in my face, I'm waking up and seeing what I've been doing in new light.
