Densible's Journal, 16 February 2009

zzzzzzzzzzzzz I am so tired this morning. Got up at 7AM, which as you know is NOT an optimum time for me (or anyone unlucky enough to be in my path). Had a client at 9AM. Had to drive to Long Beach in So Cal's version of a monsoon. I am fine, spent enough time in New Jersey so wet roads don't faze me. It's the other people! My god-so many accidents and dangerous driving behaviours-too slow or too fast.

Weekend was okay-actually pretty good. Went to the gym on Saturday and ran smack into my old trainer. She was wide-eyed and blurted-"look at you, Ms. Skinny!" It's nice to see oneself through the eyes of another. She had not seen me in 3 months and I have lost probably around 5-8 lbs. Not a lot but enough to make a difference. Ten more pounds to go! I hope it comes off my tummy and arse, instead of my head-my face is starting to look like skeletor.

V-Day was okay. We are not very romantic, just a card and a smooch. I made dinner-actually I made three dinners-one for my s-son (carnivore), one for spousal unit (overcooked fish addict ) and moi (sweet potato freak). Last night I made chicken paprikash and spaetzle for s-son. I roast the chicken instead of stewing it. The house smelled so good.

Okay-the sun just came out-have to strike when the iron is hot and take the beast out before he starts chewing on the cat.

Happy Monday everyone!

Ewwww 7AM! You poor thing. Glad you had a nice weekend and you got the compliment you deserve! Only 10 more pounds to go.....that's awesome! Someday I'll be in your shoes, I hope. Glad you got out for that walk! :)

Ha MB, I knew you'd be empathetic. I have had at least a gallon of green tea/ice tea just to keep my head up. You will get there-it just takes time, a lot of friggin' time!

Ms. Skinny! Gotta love it! I can relate to the face=skeletor comment. I think that's what worried my mom yesterday. I hope you got the beast out in time. Poor kitty!

I'm getting that chicken paprikash aroma all the way over here. :-)

oh it was so good info-I tasted just a bit. I even made spaetzle! (whole wheat flour-as an homage to good health). amy-beast wanted to jump the "kitty bone" instead of the "toy bone" tonight. My cat doesn't take any sh*t, though! Yes, from the neck up I look "too" skinny. Seeing my father this weekedn so I am sure I will hear about it.

Wonderful that your trainer noticed and gave you such a nice compliment, you deserve because you have stayed on track and done the work, you deserve the reward of some praise. Im so glad you made it safely driving in the rain on those busy freeways. I understand the CA driver's in the rain, I don't do rain... or snow.. hubby drives. It always sounds like you are a great chef! You make the most wonderful foods that I only get when I go out to eat at a fine dinner house. It's great that you can make those things and use ingredients that fit your healthy life style. Sounds like the beast and the cat have a disfunctional marriage!

A temporary lapse I assure you. I won't be doing that again in a hurry. I am still "exhausted" today-sad, I know!

My father keeps telling me that as one ages, one doesn't need as much sleep. He gets up at 5AM. Somehow, I think I will always be a sourpuss late riser. Although I did get up at 7.45 today but only because a smoke detector was chirping and spousal unit could not locate it. Drove us crazy for a few hours until we found it tucked in the sofa cushions. Long story! It wasn't me....'nuff said.
