yogamama3's Journal, 10 February 2009

The scale says nothing different and I am feeling very down right now. I hve had a stomach ache for a few days and have not been going to the bathroom right, I do not understand. Before when I had a stomach ache I would overeat a ton of candy bars and it would make me feel better. Today the cravings got real bad and I ate a fun size kitkat just one though. It was the one that had the fewest carbs and cals. I have a headache now which always makes me crave more chocolate and I am so super tired. I really feel like I have failed. I was doing so well, I am so afraid I will gain it all back in a day.

Your headache is probably low blood sugar, the same thing happens to me. How often do you weigh yourself because if you're doing it every day then all you're going to do is feel bad if there's no apparent progress, if you're weighing yourself every week then you're probably just at a plateu and in a week or so you should see progress. I guess my whole point is just stick to it, I'm sure you're doing great :)

I just saw your journal entry, and that you're feeling down. I thought I would checked out your progress... you are doing AMAZINGLY! Looking at the weight history graph - WOW! It's coming off. I think StllrChick is right about weighing yourself too often. I know my weight can fluctuate by 3lbs A DAY!!! I wouldn't worry, you're doing fantastic! If you are having problems with (ahem) BMs (going to the washroom), you might have intestinal problems. I know I have IBS (irritable bowel syndrom - a catch-all phrase for 'we don't know what the heck is wrong with you!). I used to get severe stomach aches, cravings and other related problems. Something that REALLY helped me is taking 1 tbsp hemp seed oil before each meal (or flax seed oil, but hemp is better). Both help to reduce inflammation of your intestines/colon - which might be your problem. I went to a naturopath after conventional medicine failed me and hemp seed oil was one of the things she recommended. Don't get too down! You're doing great!
