GlennM's Journal, 16 January 2011

Hi all, the weather is COLD here. I will do 3 vocabulary words later today... I am near to finishing the first book, a few days was so busy not as much of it got done as I wanted but I am quickly getting there. I am trying to do under 100gms of carbs a day and it may be the best solution - where I am not deprived of carbs but am limiting the bad ones that seem to be the most prevalent when I wasn't eating as health-minded. I am busy especially on weekends so it is hard to get on here. Go Patriots! I hope to watch the game maybe - I rooted for Green Bay and they won; but I am true blue in the end to any and all teams here in New England...

Morning Glenn, I am a galoot at times. My uncle was a bluejacket and the snow had coruscate to it yesterday. Wow I learn something every time you send us a vocabulary word. Thanks ...Hope you have a great day....Bren

Thanks Bren - I do the vocabulary words to keep my mind sharp, and most often I get the words from reading. It is amazing how many words we sort of hear or might know but can't get the definitions of until we look it up. I heard one of the best ways to preserve memory as one ages is 1. Exercise 2. Learn a foreign language no matter your age, it rewires the brain circuits basically in parts of the brain that may otherwise go unused. And so I study Spanish and want to also learn French; and maybe some other language too eventually. This week I may have to spend A LOT of time seeking where to send Book 1 as it will be ready for submission somewhere so Book 2 may not get its edit done as quickly as I had wanted. I don't have cravings anymore for chocolate and licorice especially as I stopped eating processed sugar products...

Patriots lost - I'm over it already, the worst thing is getting all the way to the Superbowl and then losing, which they have done in the past - it's onto basketball and hockey, I will watch tennis downstairs on the large-screen TV. I am brushing up on Spanish verbs, the hardest part of that language to learn - much more complicated than English there, in English most verbs stay the same. I am doing great on the diet, am thinking of ordering pizza, asked all my friends to come over, none will. Have a great Sunday night everyone...

I suppose I would have known what a bluejacket was if I had seen it in context but, I must admit that I missed all three of them. :-) I don't know much about counting carbs although I've tried once or twice. The more we are aware of these numbers the better. Keep up the good work on the books Glenn, I hope you've had a good weekend!

:) keep warm Glenn. I like to watch the Super Bowl and that is about it for me...must be the buffalo chicken wings with Ranch dressing, and beer served at these parties lol. Great news that your book is moving along. TOWANDA!!!!

I had a good and busy weekend. Things that would have bothered me years ago are no longer upsetting me as much, I am just accepting things the way they are. Hopefully this week some time the first book will be done. I am weary of editing now, the next book I must do the same. Then I have to get on the ball trying to aggressively get published somehow. I will probably stay a very private person as I have always done, maybe moving overseas will happen for me, or to a town with even more a writer's and artist's community even larger than here... Tennis is on the Internet so I will be busy watching it in the next few weeks... Keeping carbs under 100gms daily is supposed to accelerate weight loss I've read and it is not that hard to do if one is eating in a health-minded mannner.
