Spent about 10 hours working in the yard yesterday. I'm already sore and a bit stiff this morning, expect it will be more delightful tomorrow. BTW, unless you can afford a gardener, don't plant copious amounts of bougainvillea. It is mean and nasty. And after filling four bins and raking all day, how many exercise minutes did I get credit for? NONE. ZERO. 9,958 steps without leaving my yard and NONE. Must have been the freaking yard fairies doing all the work. Whatever. A little more to finish up today and I need to buy two new hoses which I think I'll just order online rather than venturing into a large warehouse store. The good news is that the section of deck that is sinking couldn't be in a better place for access. Thank goodness, I need a break. Sending my evaluation and proposed solution to my structural engineer uncle since my dad isn't around anymore. I am going to build another step down deck, I think, but I need the price of lumber to come down to reasonable again. All of this is totally within my capabilities. Thank goodness. On the other hand, the removal of a deteriorating concrete slab on the other side of the yard is not something I can do and I have no desire to learn how to jackhammer other than in my slightly vengeful dreams towards the idiots down the street who are still shooting off fireworks on the reg. Nothing gruesome, just 4AM after they've been drinking under their bedroom window.
I have one coffee in me and going to make breakfast. I'm going to do a quick yoga session so I can keep my body moving today and then back to it after breakfast. I decided that if I hit some yard goals I have, I am going to build a really cool hammock structure for a chill out spot in my tiny yard. I am also thinking about removing the shed that was here when I moved in and is just disgusting and coming apart.
Not to belabor the point, but take care of your bodies, that back injury really kept me from doing even the bare minimum for almost six months and wow, is there a lot to catch up with. I have a fire pit form that was gifted to me and kinda mothballed for the last year, but I'm going to fix that puppy and make a little destination down by the fountain. A lot of bricks and a huge fountain to relocate, but it'll be good once it's done. I think I also want to install a second set of stairs off the deck so that the other half of the yard is more inviting. Welcome to all the thoughts that swirl through my head. Ack!!!
Happy enough with the below. Blob down, muscle up because I worked it all day long and didn't eat pizza because it was too late and I was too tired. I have a turkey to cook at some point today, waiting for later because I want to use that oven heat to keep the house warm when the temps drop. Debating on whether to order groceries or not. I think I can live without them until Friday and just eat out of the fridge and freezer. And boy, have I rambled on this morning. Time to stop and start moving.
Enjoy the day! This is my jungle.
