hannahsmom247's Journal, 02 February 2014

Frustrated that a full month has passed with no weight loss, despite a constant deficit of calories consumed versus expended, but not giving up. I look better in clothes and have plenty of energy. I am planning on adding some more exercise to see if that helps.

I would like to share something . looking at your food dairy I gathered that you were eating more than your RDI although you were exercising . this could be the reason for your maintainance of weight and not loss in weight .Try to keep your food intake below your RDI

Are you taking your rdi and adding in your activity calories and then reducing the calories eaten from there? Don't do it. Eat at your rdi or a couple of hundred calories above. Many people make this mistake. When we're heavier we can get away with this but as we lose weight, the total demand decreases. Calories burned by exercise calculated on this site is also way high. My guess is you've plateaued because you're eating at your new maintenance level.

Just looked at your food journal. I'm a 5' 11" male at 168 pounds and I'm eating on average 500 calories below what you are in order to lose 1 pound a week. You've added in the exercise calories you burn to your calorie allotment is my guess.
