JennBuck61's Journal, 11 January 2014

Hello Friends: I was busy for the first part of the day due to my Mammogram - glad that's over with so now I wait a week for the results. I weighed today and I am down to 214 which was a bit of a surprise since TOM is wreaking havoc on me. However, I think sleep has a lot to do with that. It's quite amazing what a good night of sleep can do for you. I slept more than 8 hours which is not usual for me. I was well rested when I got up and had a big breakfast of 2 fried eggs, 2 slices turkey back 'bacon' and a bowl of coleslaw. I didn't feel like having a hot drink after that so I simply had water. It was a great start to my day! It's overcast and raining all day but I am feeling quite positive - the gray day is not putting a damper on my spirits! I am so thankful for the thaw although there are concerns about too much water in our rivers and creeks as well as possibility of flooding in some homes. It's +8 today and I will take it over the frigid days we have had since January started. Have a great rest of the day all :)!

Thanks for mentioning sleep. I had a couple of nights with not enough sleep and I could tell on the scale and I had cravings I don't normally have.

Holy cow on the weather - and we are at -1 today, probably a record high. Fingers crossed for you on the mammogram results. WTG on the weight loss - always a good feeling.

Rob: Yes, I am pretty happy with the weight loss. I see ups/downs in the scale but definitely see things going downwards in my size. My pants that were so tight (some didn't even fit anymore) are now loose. Big smile :) Joelmel: I found there is a strong connection between sleep and weight for sure. The scale kept going up and up when I didn't get enough sleep, even though I continued to eat on plan and exercise. It's very clear to me that getting enough sleep is key to health and wellness. Unfortunately, it has been one of the biggest areas in which I struggle. I am using a Magnesium/Calcium supplement right now and it seems to help a great deal. Lynn: I am sooooo happy for the glimpse of Spring in the middle of Winter. Today is another day above freezing. We will have these "warmer" temperatures until either Tuesday or Wednesday. I am going to enjoy it while I can. The only thing that would make this better is more Sun - but I will take what I can get for now! :)
