JennBuck61's Journal, 08 January 2014

No change on the scale today but still ok with that. It warmed up today... it's -14 and we expect to be up to -7 tomorrow. I think I will finally wash the salt debris off my car tomorrow. My TOM is missing (since last week of December) although I have all the symptoms for the last two weeks (bloating, cranky, tummy ache, cramps, etc.) but it just hasn't happened. Don't get me wrong, I don't miss it one bit, but I am wondering if it might be affecting my numbers?

OK, confession time. There is something that I have been keeping on the "back-burner" since Christmas Day. I found a lump in my right breast on Christmas Morning. I was initially shocked; the dreaded "C" word did enter my thoughts and then I decided to take it one step at a time (so that I don't completely freak myself out). On Dec. 27th I called and made an appointment for a mammogram; I was so lucky to get an appointment for Saturday, January 11th (someone must have cancelled). My sister is a cancer therapist so I had her do a quick examination of the lump. Anyway, as the day draws closer it is moving from the back of my mind to the forefront. I am deciding not to worry or do any research on this topic but there is just a modicum of angst in the background. This is my second mammogram (first was 2 years ago and there were no lumps then) and so, I will wait to see the outcome of this one. Regardless of the outcome, I am leaning towards having the lump removed. Stay tuned.

For the last few days I have been having a very light breakfast and eating heavier through the day. In addition, I find myself having something even after 8 pm. I am going to eliminate that and stick to tea or water at that time of the evening. I'll see if that makes a difference. Have a wonderful day all! I will catch up with your journals throughout the day.

Stay strong. The weather is nuts. This weekend forecast is 60F and rain. I'm back in focus with my diet and training. Sometimes when stuff happens you can't control best to just let it happen.

Yup - one step at a time. It's easy to freak out, I had an issue once with a mammogram - they kept checking me for a few hours. Gosh was my boob sore by the end of it. It turned out to be OK, but you journal reminds me that it is high time I book another appointment myself. One step at a time and our prayers are with you! Have a good day!

Bless your heart, Jenn! You have been so upbeat and here you are worrying about a lump and a late period. I am glad you went in for your sister to have a look and the mammogram is a good start. It is probably nothing and might even dissolve itself. Having a late period will definitely keep fluid weight hanging about. Drink water, drink water, drink water. LOL! What made me stop snacking at night at all hours was doing the 16:8 fast. I LOVE breakfast but saying this, it kept my mind on food all throughout the day. My fast ends 12 to 8 pm. . I feel so much more centered and I am not constantly thinking of what to eat. It is easier to do once you decide to just do it. Hugs!

Realtalk thank you. Prayers are always welcome! Mom: Thanks for the kind words. For the most part I am deciding to take it as it comes and to keep my mind occupied with the things I am doing in the moment. It helps a lot -especially since it is out of my control. I have upped the water. I didn't eat late tonight...yippee for that. I also started taking a calmag supplement. It supposed to help me relax. Also good for relieving leg cramps.
