Today I found out I have high blood pressure. I wanted to wait until after 3 months of WW before going on medication, but my adult son thinks I should go on the meds now. Soooo, I will, but this encourages me even more to lose the weight. Nancy

Yes, you really should take your medicine. After you lose weight your bp will prob go down and you might possibly be taken off of your meds.

what is your average BP?
if they want to put you on meds, you should do it - I fought it for years thinking I could control or ignore, the results I got from not taking my meds - I had a stroke in my eyeball and nearly went blind, it damaged the vitreous and I WILL go blind in that eye eventually. My doctor told me that it would not shock him one bit if I simply fell over dead walking to the parking lot!
redone750 is exactly right, if you bp is related to the weight, once you start working out and getting your body into shape, your doctor can take you off of it
