Ruhu's Journal, 04 December 2013

Hump day! And I do have a bit of a hump to get over, around, etc. today. My doggie (a 12 year old vizsla) has a bump on her chest which I'm concerned about, so we're off to the vet this afternoon. For any other dog lovers out there, you know how attached we are to our four legged friends. She got me through becoming an empty nester -- always there to greet me enthusiastically, go on a walk with me & snuggle with me at the end of the day. And my boys, just love her beyond words. So, we shall see & I'll say an extra special prayer that she's ok.

I've also had some work stuff come up, so I guess this journal is becoming a way to vent my stress! One of the businesses that I do the books for is trying & in the process of selling, and of course needs more financial info ASAP which I found out right after I'd gotten home from there yesterday (its about 30 minutes away). I'm hoping I can do it from home, but will see when I get into it this afternoon. And another of the businesses, opened a new location earlier this year, which I haven't had the time to set up & thought I could do so in January, but all of the sudden its needed ASAP too -- well, that one may have to wait. Both businesses I do as favors -- one is my BIL's and the other, DH & I have a small partnership in with his family friends. They can hire someone if need be, in my mind, because this gal is not stressing about it with all that needs to be done for the holidays & social events that are stacking up. I'm doing my best to decline as many as possible, but you know my DH, and some we will have to attend because of his work & of course, some we want to attend. Anyway, thats my vent for now!

I'm off to workout this morning (thought I had to play tennis after, but I just found a sub so that frees up some much needed & never have enough of time), then the vet & work this afternoon. But before I go, I'll pray --

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time;
Enjoying one moment at a time;
Accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
Taking, as He did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
Trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
That I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
Forever in the next.
Amen.

And through this one day, and each one meal, moment, bite & emotion, I'll pray, breathe, log, journal & express my way. I'm so grateful for each of you & this safe place to vent, complain, worry and rejoice; my family & IRL friends; and having the health & wealth to live this life I loveā€¦ stress & all! xoxox

Great attitude about work and the social stuff - you are in control (lol) and can and must chose which ones you have to attend and which ones you can nix. You have to protect yourself, as we've discussed. We innies can only take so much happy happy joy joy :) I do hope your four legged baby is well - they become so much more than pets. I have a daughter and refer to my cat as 'my son'. I think the whole house knows the pecking order of who is first in line for love - it's a very close tie between daughter and 'son'. LOL. Have an awesome day and I am so glad you aren't letting the stress get to you too much - yes, its ruminating around in that lovely cranium of yours but you have ideas of how to lessen the stress and I do hope you can implement them. Happy day sweetie :)

If gets crossed for your doggie. Typical, everyone needs something yesterday... Why can't they get organised, so you can do it properly, instead of in a rush. (((Hugs)))

Oh my angel - Mushy and I will keep you and your baby dog in our prayers. We do know how important you are to each other. And as you so often advise me, TAKE CARE OF YOU and don't do anyone favors that puts you in a bind. You need to rest and relax and enjoy the holidays as you choose.
