I am maintaining the low carb targets I set for this week in preparation for my trip next week. My aim is to keep the carb consumption 20 or less. My weight has not moved below the 218 level since last week but all is well. I am still on plan - I have not cheated and I am learning more about my body every day!

The Fall eating season has started (you know, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas) and so far, I have been able to keep my focus. Although the two weeks I will be away will be a challenge, the biggest challenge will be Christmas. My family puts on a huge spread and I am especially fond of my mother's Christmas cake - it is ridiculous awesome!!! So without giving myself too much flak or guilt, I know I will indulge (hopefully within reason). My plan is to give myself that one day for somewhat indulging in some of my favourite things (not a binge fest!!), take any weight gain that may result and continue forward with my LC journey. LC is going to be my WOL and I have to ensure I don't feel completely deprived or I know it won't work. However, I have to ensure I have the right balance. Figuring out what that means is a work in progress right now.

To help me not go overboard, I will be making some low carb choices for all to enjoy at the dinner table. I always make some desserts too, so that will include a low carb cheese cake(easy, because I've seen a few recipes online) and a low carb trifle (I have to do some research for the right recipes). Hopefully, as the years roll around I will amass enough low carb recipes that will keep me on plan for holidays and family special events.
