I'm doing better today. But not perfect. I did have a small slice of some pumpkiny desserty thingy that a neighbor brought over. But other than that, I've eaten a tuna salad wrap with a low-carb tortilla, some shredded cheddar and a tomato; I also had two s/f candies; and that's about it. I will take a salad to work with me tonight.
I am starting to see the week ahead sneaking up on me. It is going to be a long one. Food is starting to come back into this house. Good food! I am trying to plan ahead, but I just can't resist everything - I love all the good food this time of year. And I'm not just talking about the sweets. Although the homemade pies and cookies and candies bother me a little - I think I can control my portions relatively well with those items. A taste of this or that is really enough for me. What bothers me more are the homemade soups, dips and snacks. We start all of this stuff on Sunday - we will have people over every single day next week with soup on all the time and lots of good snacks.
Today I had a serious talk with myself. I am not going to stress about this too much. I thought about my New Year's Resolution and what I want to make a commitment to this year. I thought about making it until the New Year. And what I've decided is that I'm going to prepare some of my Atkins friendly stuff, but I WILL have some of the other stuff, too. I am just going to make better portion decisions. I don't need a vat of stuffing, just a few bites, etc. I enjoy this food. I just don't want to eat it every day anymore. And isn't that the ultimate lesson?
I am going to continue my new eating habits into the New Year. It will be much easier to refocus then, too. I'm looking forward to a new challenge brought to us by Sara(!!) and I have decided on my New Year's Resolution. I am only making one this year. No more. I am making one large change that I want to see in myself by the end of the year. I AM GOING TO EXERCISE 6 DAYS A WEEK. This has plagued me throughout my weight loss journey. Well, its time to grab it by the horns and JUST DO IT. So, I will spend the next two weeks making a plan of action for myself so that I can achieve this goal and start the new year off right!!!
Have a great evening everyone!! Weigh in day tomorrow!!!! I know it will be fine!
