I have one from Kelly tech. weight is dead on. body fat says I'm 20%. with all these veins? lol ok. but it will show you trends of increase and decrease. I want to get a dual x-ray scan someday

Thank you for answering one.point.O 😊
After I posted this I read a review on my scale and they said the accuracy is hard to tell because the measurements are basically estimates, but the consistency is what is important. So I guess our scales are doing what they're supposed to 🤷♀️ because mine seems pretty consistent too. I'd like to have some tests done though to know my real measurements, but I'm sure that is super expensive so I probably won't ever have it done. 😕

It's like $100 around here.

One.point.O that is not bad at all! Where do you go for that? The hospital?

Draglist, ok awesome so I guess as long as mine is consistent too I won't worry too much.

Yep. Or there's an ortho place that does it too. It's used for bone scans but gives you all the numbers like water muscle mass body fat too. Hit google. They'll be able to tell you. At least one of our hospitals does them and another bone doctor.

That is awesome! Thank you one, I will check it out 😊

Wow never heard of that. I have trouble with mine just showing correct weight. I dont know what half of those things are.

Carol, I didn't know some of them either until I looked it up online lol and now I'd like to get a true reading so that I know just how inaccurate my scale is.

I have two scales that read things like this. Neither read the same lol. I just watch the trends to see that the numbers are getting better. I had an actual body scan a couple times last year and they even told me they aren’t 100% accurate but the best that’s available. One of my scales reads a bit higher than those scans so it’s the closest (RENPHO) and the other is off my like 10% bf (omron). Just keep track of your numbers and watch to make sure the muscle is going up and the body fat, BMI, age etc are going down. It gets confusing so don’t stress over it!

My body scan was buy two and get half off the second so it cost us $150 total and we had to book them both and pay at the same time. I had to drive 2 hours to the city to get the scan because nobody around my area does them.

Thank you peeperjj! That's a good idea my sister also has one that reads all of these I'll see what hers measures for me too. Awe man, my town is small. We may not have the technology to do it here either. I'll make some calls and see where I can have it done. That's really not a bad price at all.

Have one, love it, rate it 7/10 for accuracy. I watch trends. It is useful though.

Thank you katsolo! So far mine seems to be pretty consistent too. 😊

I have a smart scale friend🤗....do I know how to use it...... nope 😩 I still have to figure it out too 💜💚

BMI is just based on your height and weight, so I'm sure that's as accurate as your weight. the accuracy doesn't matter so much as consistency. Those things address useful in measuring trends. if the scale is off by a half a pound of weight or a percentage of body fat, but it's still decreasing then you know you're making progress.
You could probably find something online rating it's accuracy. Unless someone in fatsecret has the same scale, and also weighs themselves on 5 other scales, they don't know if it's accurate either! 😂🙃

jcmama, did it come with instructions? Mine was pretty easy to set up.

BMI will be off if you have a lot of muscle.
Calipers are good, some tailor’s measuring tape is good.
I would spend $100-150 at a university that has a good sports lab (needs to be the same lab the athletes go.) get an ecg while working out on a treadmill. Get Vo2 max. Find your BMR (if in a coma I would burn 2400 calories) Mine is higher than some calculators predict online ( I am close to what FS has for me, which is why I am here.) my BMI right now is 35 but my lean mass is 173lbs. I hold on to a bit of water. So BMI is not as accurate for all people.
I would go to a lab and find out your lean mass.
It is great to get a solid baseline then go from there.

Thank you Change! After One and Peeper suggested the scan I have decided that I will absolutely have it done. I would love to know my baseline now and how close my scale is to it or just how off it is so I have something to track it more accurately. 😊
