Hello everyone.
So, my daughter turned 18 on Friday! I ended up just getting her a bouquet of balloons and taking them to her at work, then hubby and I took her to dinner and got her a pair of boots. Unfortunately, the boots weren't the kind she wanted, so we are planning on taking them back today. She was pretty bummed, though, because not many of her friends remembered about her birthday-- especially her 'closest' ones. Her roommate just celebrated her birthday a few weeks ago, and although Nikki didn't have much money to BUY her something, she did take the time to bake and decorate a cake for her, but the roommate did nothing for Nikki... I don't really care for the girl anyway, so this just tops it for me. PLUS, Saturday morning, Nikki walked out to her car to go to work and found her trunk open, her glove box and console open, all of her stuff which had been contained in her car strung all over (but not stolen!) and chocolate milk poured all over her seats!! She was so upset, and a little scared. I feel so bad.
Rough week with food. Should go to a meeting today, but can't stand the idea that I will probably have to pay again cuz I think I'm about 1.5 to 2 pounds above the max. Blah!!
Got some decorations put up in the house over the weekend. Need to get the lights up outside. This house is a bit bigger than the last, so we need a few more strands to get it all covered. Hubby wants to buy all new because he wants colored icicles instead of the white ones we currently have, but I'm trying to talk him out of it....
Did some shopping on Friday, but not a lot. I did get up at 3 to go and spent all day out, but really didn't find a lot of deals that made it worth my while. Thinking we won't go next year, but we'll see. So, I still have lots of shopping to do in the next few weeks.
Thanksgiving was okay. Couldn't get much of the extended family together, so really just had my family (me, hubby and kids) with my SIL and her two boys, which is kind of a normal day. My sister did come over for dessert with her three kids, but not the 'ideal' Thanksgiving. All it was was cooking all day to have a huge dinner with too much food that none of us needed and ended up regretting anyway!! We are thinking about taking a trip next Thanksgiving. Hubby's cousin took his family to Hawaii this year... maybe something like that, or we'll go to Texas to see his brother... Have a year to decide.
Hope you all have a great week!
