Update: It's be a little over 24 hours since my tooth extraction and bone graft. The infection actually spread to another tooth and some gum/bone. So I had two teeth extracted and then some. I'm still on antibiotics and they prescribed me codeine for pain management. After the procedure, I was such a baby- wailing in pain.
However...
I CAN NOT take the codeine pain medication, worst side effects I've ever had in my life. I am pale in the face, throbbing headache, tired (even though I'm sleeping the entire day), nauseous, lost of appetite, I fainted a couple of times, dizziness, basically sedated and the list goes on. What a terrible drug.
So I'll stick to motrin and deal with the occasional pain. The ice packs have been helping too.
I'm stuck to eating mushy, cold and/or room temperature foods. I can't workout- hell I can't even bend down or I'll get too dizzy.
At least the swelling is going down. Picture 1 was before extraction and picture 2 is today.
I just hope that when this is all over, I can go back to my healthy lifestyle. I feel like CRAP!
Thank you for all the kind and caring comments. You guys are the best. I'll get through this, but man... this is what I get for not going to the dentist to get that one cavity checked out in the beginning of the year.
Can only blame myself for this costly and potentially deadly infection.
Stay safe, stay healthy FS Family ❤️
