Phyllisgreen's Journal, 22 October 2013

I can not believe that I forgot the most exciting part of my night last night.

I have not had a bath in years. To big to get down and back up in it, and if I could it would not have been the best "fit".

So, I stood by it, starred at it and thought "what the hell" and decided to give it a whirl. Desperate measures for desperate people. I wanted and needed to soak my fanny so damn bad.

Well, we all talk about smaller clothes, low numbers on the scale, less body fat and many more great successes but I am hear to say, that I now fit in my tub with some room to spare. Getting in and back out was a breeze even with my sore butt cheek and thighs.

I find it amazing what is different in everyday life. Things we would never think of become possible. Faith in what we can be with a little bit of effort and self discipline.

Some days are more difficult then others but if the truth be said, this is a great ride and I am glad to be on it with each of you~

Such a cool story! I had an "aha" moment yesterday, also bathing related. After working in the yard all day I had to hop in the shower before dinner. Lo and behold, afterward I was able to tuck the towel in at the waist and have it stay up- I always thought a towel was a complicated mechanism which required holding it with one hand while balancing toiletries, opening doorknobs, etc., with the other........ :)

That is wonderful Phyllisgreen. You are right, fitting in the bath is not always on the list of things we note when we lose weight but it is a tremendous milestone. Here's to you enjoying many more baths for years to come and your continued progress in good health. Congrats!

Congrats!!! A little goes a long way. I was able to jog this past Sunday (I was in the Army Reserve so I love to jog but because of the weight have not been able to) after losing the first 37 pounds and I can walk up to the third floor at my job. About 64 steps and not be out of breath. WOOHOO!

Ha! That is wonderful, and I am proud of you, but let me know when that sweet hubby of your can fit in the tub with you - talk about fun! Love you sweetie and keep up the good work.

That is awesome Phyllis!!! I haven't been able to have a good soak either for some time now!!! I could probably fit now, but with the arthritis, I can't do the getting up and down part!!! I would need the hubby to install a few more grab bars!! It's ok with me though. We have a pretty small tub, more for kids, and not made for soaking!! I would love to have a separate shower and soaking tub!!! Glad you hit that milestone most people forget about!! Good for you!!!

Been there, done that. I went to do a soak too. This might be a TMI... but for the first time in a millions hears,I could lean over and wash my arse. Sitting here and laughing like a loon. I was so thrilled. And getting out was easy too. Suggestion to those who have problems getting out of the tub. Leave the water in until you get out. Buoyancy. Then pull the plug. That's what I had to do.

Sounds wonderful, I've not taken a bath in a while for some of the reasons you've listed and some of my own circumstances but I love a bath and so happy you are enjoying the simple things in life so many take for granted. Have a wonderful day.
