One.pount.1, Are used to hate fish but now I actually eat it because it’s nice and fresh and it doesn’t have a fishy smell at all so that makes all the difference in the world. Maybe your wife doesn’t like it because it smells fishy try to get it as fresh as possible and that would make a big difference. But since you’re a fish lover I’m sure you already know that

Nah. She's very picky. Hates pork. Won't eat turkey. Barely any meat unless it's 3 stages past well done. Basically mashed potatoes and oreos are her diet bacon and Pepsi. Thankfully the kids eat darn near anything.

@ocean_girl: Even fresh fish can get a fishy smell if not butchered or held properly. Here are a couple of tricks.
#1: Shelf life at 38F is significantly less (days) than 33-34F. I used two casserole dishes. Bottom one has refreezable ice pack. Top one has a rack with fish on top. Cover with foil. Sometimes I lay a flexible ice pack on top of foil. Fish will hold for 3-4 days like this in a fridge.
#2: Brush a little dry vermouth over the fish 15-20 before cooking. Any smell on outside will disappear. This is a trick from McCormick & Schmicks restaurant chain which was founded in PacNW. Lemon & lime can "cook" fish but vermouth doesn't.
You can even have a martini while you prep! 🐟🍸😋
