so I've been wondering, how often should you weigh yourself? My reason for asking is that when your aiming to loose just 2lb a week on a callorie controlled diet, surely a glass of water or a larger meal the night before would have an impact on the scales in the morning meaning your weigh in wouldn't be accurate and cause a loss in motivation and a desire to change a diet that is working?

You are correct. A big meal may indeed effect the weigh-in the next morning due to a change in body composition. This may not be a fat gain though but you wouldn't know for sure. Best to weigh yourself at regular and spaced out intervals.

This is true. I weigh myself every morning and evening, but only record Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings on a calendar in my bathroom just to see the fluctuations - and then I record my 'official' weigh-in on FS on Friday mornings. See what works for you. Some people record a weekly average.

I always eat around 5.30 pm never after 6pm. And get weight in the morning on a Monday about 9ish just to get it out of the way lol I hate the scales x
