I need motivation!!!! This month I have worked hard. I work out 6 days a week, I only eat what I'm supposed to and I only lost 5 lbs this month!! I don't want to lose my motivation but it's hard when the scale doesn't move. ive tried changing up my workouts, I've tried eating different foods in case my body was getting use to what I was doing and eating. What else should I do? I eat low fat/low carb, no more than 1000 calories a day. i work out 45 minutes a day a mixture of elliptical, exercise bike and/or Body Groove dance videos. I miss wine! I miss sugar! I miss potatoes! :-(

What mrmeints, kunya16, davidsprincess, Ireland, and Diablo say! Don’t starve your body from enough nutrients to build muscle from all that cardio. I like cardio to but I’ve found healthy fats and at least one gram of protein for every kg of body weight is really healthy. Without protein you may be losing muscle mass when you should be building it. If you can loose a pound a week consistently that’s good! Good Shedding! 😇

Don't be so hard on yourself! And remember, the scale can defy you at times. You lost 5 pounds this month? That is awesome! You have to keep in mind that while you are losing body fat, you are gaining muscle...and muscle weighs more than fat. You are getting healthier. You will have months when you lose less, and months when you lose more. You need to remember the fat vs. muscle thing and keep forging ahead. You are doing great!! You got this. 😉

Maybe you just have to rest! Wait until weekend and try to rest at least 10 hours. Drink a lot of water, drain and sleep. You’ll see the changes in the scale, in your body and in your skin. Then start again!! That works to me.

5 lbs in a month is EXCELLENT, if you've been doing better that's great for sure, but I'm only losing about that too. It's important to remember muscle weighs more, so if you're exercising 6 days, some of that weight is in the muscles and it doesn't mean you're not still losing what you want to lose. Also, remember that if you end up in caloric deficit your body will start holding onto more if it can. If your metabolism has increased, you may actually need to increase caloric intake to keep up and keep your goals on track. Example, you might need a minimum of 1300 now if your metabolism has increased. Just something to consider, but like everyone said, 5 lbs is GREAT for 4 weeks!

5 lbs is great! Don't let it get you down, sometimes it helps to vary you caloric intake up or down 100-200 calories a couple of days a week. Keep going, you are doing great!

A few suggestions: Ditch the scale. Are you more concerned with feeling and looking healthier or the number? More often than not, the scale can be discouraging and breaks motivation as you've already stated. Second, a pound a week is a healthy amount. Anything more is not sustainable. Third, your caloric intake is low. A good starting point would be finding your BMR and then reduce by 10-15%. If you're starving yourself, your metabolism will accommodate and slow your progress. Less is not always more. My BMR is 1600, I workout daily and if I'm trying to bulk, I eat 1800-2000. If I'm trimming, I eat 1300-1500. In closing, everyone is different so play around with the macros and rotations. What works this month, may not next month. When you find yourself frustrated or starting to plateau. Change things up but remind yourself how far you've come, how healthy you look and feel and toss the damn scale! 🤓

You need to eat more vegetables and less meat.

I think you should be counting your calorie intake. Target to eat any choice of food less than 1000 calories per day and see how it goes, after a week.

Is 1,000 calories a day even sustainable? You didn't gain the weight in a week or even a month so what is wrong with shedding it slowly? I personally found that weight training has worked wonders for me, that and making sure I have enough protein in order to maintain my muscle and fibre (for good health) and in order to help any needed weight loss. Take photos and measurements, judge yourself on how you look and feel and not on a number. :-)

Wait, I just read the rest of the post 1k calories low fat AND low carb. No wonder you're frustrated. You need to get on a lifestyle diet and quit this crash diet asap. You're headed for a rebound. Sorry, but we need to hear the truth sometimes. Don't worry about your macros besides getting in more protein and I'd say 1500 calories at least. Then be consistent over a LONG period of time. Time won't run at a crawl when you stop punishing yourself.

You're still losing, which is good! I think an error most people make is not adjusting their meal plan along with their weight loss. So if you started at 112 and now you're at 95, your BMR has changed, that's almost a 20 kg difference. So sadly as you go along you'll need to either reduce the calories you eat or increase the exercise. Also, your body gets used to the exercise you do (at first you didn't know how to do them so they required more work and now you're used to them so you work a bit less) so you need to keep adjusting that as well. What I'm trying to do is adjust my BMR calculation every week so every Saturday I calculate it again and update it. And then I try to stay bellow it wither with diet or exercise.

Diablo360x is hitting the nail on the head! If you are looking for your results to be long lasting you need to be more balanced and not push such a low diet. Also 1000 calories a day is not enough for the body to run properly consider eating more, but ensuring it is healthy and balanced We all have cheat snacks and meals here and there do not deprive your self of everything you love, and do not beat yourself up for it. Take it for the reward that it is and continue on back to your healthy day. Finally I will add some questions. You lost 5lbs by way of the scale, but do your pants feel better? Have you taken circumferences? With all the exercise you are doing there is a good chance you are gaining muscle and losing fat. That kind of positive body change will not accurately show on a scale. It will show in your circumference measurements and how your clothes fit. If you want even more accurate find someone who has the tools and knowledge to measure your body fat and lean body mass percentages. Good luck and stay strong!

The only time I went that low on calories was when I couldn’t workout for an extended time. You working out that amount means you don’t have the fuel you really need. Your body won’t be thanking you. More prone to injury, eventually overeating, and it will mean your workout performances will not be as good, either. I’m sure someone has already said much the same though. Don’t deprive yourself. I promise you can have your cake and eat it too. (In moderation). Balance out. Just my two cents, of course.
