Feretina's Journal, 01 October 2013

I woke up & weighed. Saw the same number as the past several days. Ugh! Got angry and frustrated. Then I exchanged some emails and comments with buddies and felt better. Just ate lunch and feel empowered. Mandisa's song Overcomer is playing on the radio. "Don't quit. Don't give in, you're an Overcomer. " Give this a listen and get pumped! She struggled with her weight and is living healthy now! Awesome!

It's a journey. It doesn't happen over night. But you CAN do this. Take it one day at a time and before you know it you'll have reached your goal.

Reading your diet calander, I see lunch is your saboteur. That bread is no good for you, avoid bread at all costs and read the ingredients on the peanut butter...if it's anything other than peanuts don't eat it. Jifs label reads peanuts then less than 2% salt, sugar etc....that 2% adds up to a lot of junk. Smuckers natural is much better. Cream substitute....nope. You're better off with milk or just drink your coffee black. A much better lunch....a can of tuna in olive oil, a handful of walnuts or almonds.

You are totally correct; however, I had hoped only 1 piece with 1 T of pb wouldn't pose much of a problem. Thanks for checking up on me. I think I'm eating too many fried/fat but low carb items. Tonight the plan is shredded zucchini instead of pasta. I will add extra drained lowfat hamburger meat to the sauce. And no garlic bread. Better, O wise one? No, really! Thanks!

Skip the sauce, to many calories and to much sugar. Zucchini is a good substitute for pasta. A better dinner is the low fat hamburger with a little soy sauce for seasoning and a couple ounces cheddar cheese.

And one more tip, savor the food as you eat it. That was a problem I always had, I ate to fast. Now I take the time to enjoy the food. It's not a race. It helped me. Wise one, over & out, lol.

Wise one: I read your advice after eating the sauce. I didn't take time to enjoy and now feel bloated. Your wisdom is coming to haunt me! Ugh! I love the tuna in olive oil with dill. Guess tomorrow is back to it. Feeling half-hearted.

Don't feel half hearted. It's easy to get discouraged but remember, this isn't a diet, diets always fail...rather your changing your lifestyle and that takes time. Don't worry about yesterday, focus on today and what you can do better tomorrow. You will succeed. Wise One out.
