A BIG Thank YOU!!! to any Veteran's...we celebrate you today, and your generous service to our country! Taking a better look at my menu's and the OWL foods lists...and working on incorporating more variety back into my weekly menus. Still eating very low carb, because it happens to be the things I like...but as a rule, I want to successfully work through the carb ladder to really know for myself what I can have, can't have...or only have in occasional moderation. It's all such a learning process...even when you get where you thought you wanted to be! Have a great day folks...

Paula, during this process you have learned to listen to your body. While you climb the carb ladder and introduce new things, listen to your body for triggers. If you eat something that sets off cravings, take note and eat clean and it will balance out. I can only speak for myself as to why I stopped this WOE after being successful and doing it for almost 5 years. I gave up on myself in many ways. My life had many challenges and I got self destructive. Had I stayed the course, I would have dealt with everything much better. HIndsight is 20/20. I a just so glad that I got back on track and I feel so much better. This is very sustainable and easy to balance. Having a support group, like this group keeps us on track when outsiders tell you to throw caution to the wind. It's not worth it, a carb hangover is worst than any other kind. Keep that sticky on your mirror that says "never again!".

I definitely have to work on more variety also. I forgot to keep trying new foods in OWL which is actually the point of OWL in a way. I learn from you all the time.

thanks, Sassy...you are so right! Not really dealing w/ temptation, just noticing that even though I could have...for example: 1/2 a sweet potatoe...I don't. I just would rather go w/out because in my head I know it's the higher end of the scale. I know I could have occasionally cottage cheese, but I don't. I could have some fruit...but I don't. It's like I am stuck in a modified Induction w/ added veggies...and not really moving up the ladder. I can eat nuts w/out gaining...but I get sucked into the portion and lose control. Love them! But overeat them, everytime! So, done w/ them for awhile. Just kind of feel like I lost track of keeping track...can't get toooo lazy even in Maintainance. Attention to detail will keep me at goal. And - this is where you are sooooo right...NEVER AGAIN! :))))) will I weigh 205! YAHOO!!!

Paula I think it is great that you are choosing to stay away from different foods even though they are healthy, they still may trigger, I have to be honest even though I am so close I catch myself still saying, "I can't wait to get to goal so every now and then I can have ____". I don't even wanna have those thoughts, cause that is what will take me right back to where I was, I want your mentality...lol
