well, I failed miserably on both my current challenges a couple days ago. Don't think I've had any water since Friday, and when I bought a yummy double-cheese pizza at the gas station quit writing down foods. Haven't really been hungry since; sustaining myself on beer, wine, sesame-stick snack mix and bits of several nice cheeses.

I actually have a brand new weight loss theory. It came to me yesterday. If we eat fat in summer we'll sweat it off. If we eat lean in winter we'll shiver more fat off. Instead, we tend to do the opposite. That, and climate-control our environments so the body doesn't know what time of year it is. I'm not guilty of the latter, but the former sure applies.

I will try to save my rich gravies and cheeses, egg nogs and starches, for the summer months, and do steamed veggies and lean bean soups in the winter.

lots of outdoor work in spring and fall, so heavy on the protein then... makes sense?

...or maybe I'll just spend 10 hours a day sitting here typing about it.

and now winter is coming up; eating lean for the next few months is a good idea anyway, LOL
