Today has been a stressful one. I am working in an industry and for a company that is completely unstable right now. We are undergoing lay-offs and I certainly don't feel secure even though there has been no indication that my position will be eliminated. It's stressful to see people around me who I have come to know and become friends with getting laid off left and right. I work in the HR department as the payroll specialist which means I am the one cutting all the checks to send people on thier way. Many of them don't even have a clue or see it coming. It is absolutely heartbreaking. I just hope I can get through Christmas as I have already submitted for ETO time and bought my plane tickets to Vegas. I have promised myself that if I can just get through Christmas and be able to take this paid vacation, that I will begin looking for work elsewhere immediatley upon my return. I know things like this don't tend to go how we wish them to, but I am praying for a miracle here. Because of the stress I am feeling, I knew I just HAD to exercise today. It is the ONLY way to releive any of this stress right now. So I did - and I am happy about that because I feel like I did something good for myself. Also, I was thinking that in this world of uncertainty, it's really nice to know that there is at least something I can control - and that would be how I treat my body and what I put into my mouth.
