I built a tray feeder for him out of scrap from work. but this is way cooler. thank you.

that's a great setup melissa - the big blue bird looks like a jay, but not quite, you know what it is? and the red/green/gold little one - a finch? we have gold and red finches here, along with brown. we love our bird feeder watching as well - especially the hummingbirds. great pics.

Thanks, guys! It really is fun and, yes, the cats are vastly entertained. The feeder is 11 ft from the window, so we get a pretty good view. The hummingbird and squirrel feeder/bird feeder we have is just three feet away! The critters are mighty brave to come with only a window screen between them and large, eager, twitchy tailed cats. 😁

That is so cool about your little lad, #1. oh! I have a bird boy too, who loved learning all their names and particulatities when he was young. It is a fun hobby! br_e_co, yes! It is a Jay! But, it is a Steller's Jay! Yep, that is a little rosy, House Finch. My hubby's favorites are the two boring, big looking Northern Fickers. They are actually so beautiful, and the picture is so bad! They have bright orange under their wings and tail feathers. And the lads have bright orange cheeks. This is a mom and baby. The silly, big baby was still getting fed by the tired, overworked mom!

Thanks, tatauu! My roses and flower gardens are all on the south and west sides of the house. That is where I try to make things pretty. This bird station is in the back yard and is so funny! I love our lawn even though all weeds and moss, but the the bird feeder is truely put together with this and that and so ugly! No one but our family needs to see it, and the birds don't care. 😁

Woah, this is so cool, Melissa!! How sweet of you to make that for the birdies. And your kitties are so adorable. Thank you for sharing! 😍💖

OMG, this is beautiful, great job Melissa! I would like to do something like this, but my cats are in and outdoors and they are criminals 🙁

Love your bird feeder and visitors. I think it looks great. My feeders keep my cats and me entertained with their visitors too. Really helps when you have indoor kitties to keep them out of mischief.

Wow, this looks great! Your cats are looking at them like ”get the Tabasco, we’re headed out”. 😂

You've created a wonderful feeding area for your feathered friends. We love watching the birds out here too. Joe knows about them mire than I do. We've had a Vermillion Flycatcher and his mate since Spring. Very nice job. Let the feasting begin! 😊

I love it! If it brings you joy or reduces stress, it affects your mental well-being which can affect your diet, so all good by me. And that's in addition to it's your journal, do what you want. What kind of bird is the guy who's bigger than the feeder? Giant feeder/giant bird???

Beautiful. I do the same. Love feeding the little creatures. And even the squirrels. And rabbits. And chipmunks ..

Thanks, guys, for enjoying my little friends with me! Yes, Keilin, you probably don't want to make a buffet for your kitties and birds at the same time! 😁 Becky, I'm going to go look us a Vermillion flycatcher right now! Katsolo, I think you mean the picture with the two flickers? They are huge! And so, so much prettier than my sad camera captures. They are 12 to 14 inches! We have a Downey woodpecker mom and kid pair that come all the time too, but I haven't been able to get a good picture of them together.
