Geepers... I am in such a 'diet' funk right now it isn't even funny. I think I've finally figured out that I DO live to eat. I put things in my mouth to comfort or satisfy me and 90% of the time it has nothing to do with eating to nurish myself. I've been struggling with some withdrawals, I think. I've really cut way back on my sugar intake and think I'm feeling it through irritability and head aches. Yesterday I had quite the short fuse. I kept it in but it wasn't easy. LOL
Somehow I need to get myself back on track. Gonna try the mediterranean way of eating but am not sure how long I can do it. I signed up with ediets.com and am stuck with it for 3 months. They don't offer SBD as a choice but do offer Atkins and a Glycemic Index diet. Might look into one of those, if BullyT is interested.
I did make it to the gym last night, right after work. I skipped the gym 2 weeks in a row and didn't like that. I learned that if I don't go RIGHT after work, I most likely won't go. And, I have decided to view going to the gym just as much of a 'must' as I view going to work every day. I CAN'T skip out on work or I'll get fired! Might as well look at going to the gym as an extension of my work day. I was glad I went to the gym last night, too. It helped give me some 'me' time as I was able to drop Cierra off at daycare and then park my butt on an exercise bike and catch up on the news. They have little tv's hooked to the exercise bikes. You can plug your headphones in and listen and watch whatever channel you want.
Well, anyway. Don't know what my problem has been but I'm struggling to pull myself out of my little funk and eventually will make it back to the top of the barrell.

This is definitely the time of year for me as well. I have to gather up any strength I have to resist all the temptations (which I don't resist well with...this past weekend was a perfect example of that, and here I am playing catch up again!). Maybe trying the Mediterranean diet is just the thing you need to change it up! Even if you can't get to the gym, go for a walk...just keep on moving =)

Time to regroup!! I hear ya, it gets "old" and unappealing to continue with the same foods, to me too. But, I KNOW that we can make this work, girl!! Let's try a recipe trade... say a week of dinners and see what happens!? :) xoxo

Girl, I am so feeling your pain! This diet funk stinks! I keep whining about it (when one mentions something more than three times, but doesn't do anything about it, it becomes whining!) I'm gonna stand here in the bottom of the diet pit, and boost you up, then when you get to the top of the barrel, will you pull me up?

I am so sorry you are feeling bad. You might want to make sure that your snacks between meals include some type of fruit or food that will keep your insulin response more level so you don’t have any “lows”. Have a cheese stick and a peach, plum or ½ banana??? Im just guessing here. I bet the Mediterranean diet and the South Beach are similar Many moons ago, and friend and myself with to overeaters anonymous. The first 21 days was called a “detox” period where we gave up all “refined” sugar. There is absolutely a withdrawal period when you give up refined sugars. Headaches, mood swings and all the things that go with any other type of “withdrawal”. Hang in there gal, you can do it. Just think that it will take three weeks to “kick the habit”. Everyone has to do what works for them. Good luck to you!
