So I've been having some anxiety issues and also some boredom with my diet. Any ideas on ways I can jumpstart Atkins again (without any temptations)? Otherwise I was wondering if anyone has tried the Special K challenge??

Hi Aromans's - boredom was a big concern for me when I got started. I did a couple of things to help. I invested in a 2 really good Low Carb cookbooks, I searched the web for recipes (that's how I found FS), but I also made up my mind that I was going to stick to it. When I get bored, I try to remember that food isn't my reward. I'm not saying its easy...just sharing some of my "tricks". I can't provide any feed back on the Special K challenge - but good luck. Hang in there - the reward is definately worth any boredom you experience.

I make it a goal to try 2 new recipes every week. That is what inspired the recipe challenges. It really keeps me interested. It is easy to get stuck in a rut, just mix it up a little. I feel like I can comment honestly on the Special K Challenge in your journal since you have read the Atkins book. If you read the Atkins book and you read the ingredients in Special K...well, just decide for yourself. The reviews of the SKC in other websites say that it is hard to follow because you're starving all the time. I will write more in my own journal...

I think the Special K diet is just another "gimmick" diet. You are here to change your life for good - not just for a few months. Share with us what a normal day is - or share with us what you are craving. Maybe we can help with the specifics. I also find it helpful to see what everyone else is eating - that always gives me ideas. And I, too, try a lot of different recipes. That keeps things interesting to me.

Also, forgot to add, have you thought about the fat fast? It is a good way to jump start your diet - Atkins style. But, it will NOT cure boredom - it limits you more, of course.
