So, are ya sick of hearing me go on about my b'day?? The aging-meltdown, the description of yesterday, etc.? NO?
Well, then, here's the final installment! The Day of.
Sunday, the big, dreaded day, actually turned out to be one of the most enjoyable one, ensconced in love, friendship, and family that I've had in a LONG time. Oh, and instead of WHINE--there was plenty of WINE, so that made me doubly happy! :)
There was a winetasting event, then meeting my best friend in town for drinks at my favorite jazz-joint, and then dinner at her place--courtesy of her warm and loving parents, who have become my surrogate parents home-away-from-home.
We had deep, stimulating conversations, my favorite varietal of wine on a beautiful sunny day, and later, absolutely delicious food (her mom made my favorites!), a cute little b'day cake..and PRESENTS!! I totally felt like a child! Way to Grow UP! LOL! But it was the best feeling--to be surrounded by genuine love.
Earlier in the day, I got a few phone calls, email messages, texts etc. from friends who remembered! And I had a really nice conversation with my mom who lives in India...my parents sent me such a beautiful e-card, it made me cry! Amidst all this, my best bud reminded me to go to the gym--even for just 10 mins! And I did!!! For 13 mins! I did my walk-run intervals for a total of 6 mins of running, which in itself is no big deal--but atleast it got me out of this week-long habit of AVOIDING the gym (so, thanks, Julie, for kicking my butt and gettin' me to go, coz I felt GOOD!!).
And on top of all this, I also feel so happy to have discovered this amazing site and have all you guys in my life!! This year is indeed turning out to be CHARMED!!
Oh, and on my way home, this guy that I met yesterday and who'd asked for my number--called today and asked me out! This was the same guy from like, 4 months ago, who I'd met and thought was cute, and we had a good conversation, and possible connection--and yet, he never called me back!! So, yesterday I must have looked better and felt better--because it seems to have caught his attention!! Guess there is something to losing weight and looking good, after all!!!
Yeah, 35 RULES!!!
Thanks to today, and thanks to the lovely, amazing, diverse perspectives you guys offered the other day, I feel older--and wiser--and now am ready to embrace growing older--and plan to be GOOD TO THE LAST DROP!!!! ;)
