LindsayVincent's Journal, 04 September 2008

I ran today! I did a 5 minute warm up walk and then did intervals of 60 seconds jogging and 90 seconds walking for 20 minutes. It sounded a lot easier than it was. I didnt realize how out of shape I was! 3 minutes into walking I was already tired and my legs burned. I felt so good once I was done though!

Joined the group Walk 30 minutes a day today! I plan on doing my running program 3x a week and then walking on the other days.

Second day and everything is going well! I am still feeling very excited, I know that it will start getting harder. I feel ready though!

Great job on the exercise! I may try your method, I'm not at a point where I can run for long periods of time.

It is really hard when you first start. I did this many years ago. You will be surprised at how fast it gets easier, though. In a month you need to look back at this journal!

Wow good job, im impressed :) When i started my jog/walk routine...i could only jog for like 30 seconds and then rested for 90. now its a little bit more time jogging, less time walking. Keep it up!! Soon you will notice it getting easier and then its fun to pump it up :)

Great!! That's sounds a lot like my routine... I warm up for 4-5 min with a steady pace, then I run for 60 seconds or until I can't breathe (lol).. then I slow it back down to a fast walk, for about 5 min.... and so on and so forth. The exercise WILL pay off!!

I know what you mean. I ride an AirDyne for my exercise and look back a couple months ago to when I started. After 6 minutes I was gasping for breath and thinking "Only a few years ago I could do this an hour without a thought". It took me about 6 weeks but I've leveled out at 90 minutes of intermediate intensity (twice a day)-But looking back again, I can't believe what I can do now, compared to what I could not do such a short time ago. Good luck on your program, it sounds like your headed in the right direction.

Thanks for the buddy invite! Wow! That's great to start out with a running routine already. You'll be physically fit and looking slim and trim before you know it! Keep the faith!
