Man, what a great day so far! Hubby & I went to the gym together today since he had the day off! I love it when we can work out together. It inspires me to do more when I know he is there & probably watching me! lol! I have been slowly increasing my cardio workout since I started this diet 5+ months ago. I remember the days when I could only do 12 min. on the elliptical! It still kicks by bootie, but I have worked up to 35 min. on it now! I was always able to tolerate the treadmill so much better. I have arthritis in my knees, so I have to be careful! In the last month or so, I have been experimenting with interval training or walk/run on the treadmill. My knees are holding up so far! HALLELUJAH! One month ago, I was doing 35 min. of cardio (interval training) on the treadmill or elliptical. Today, I did 63 min. on the treadmill & burned 525 calories! WOOHOO! YAY ME! I started out today doing 2.5min. of walking (4mph) & then 2.5min. of running (5.5mph). I began to get tired after about 20-25 min. into it! So then I cranked up the incline & climbed @ 4mph for the rest of the time. I looked like a wet puppy that just jumped out of the creek when I finished, but I felt GREAT! It's such an accomplishment for me! I know that I need the cardio to burn some of the FAT that I still have! AB exercises can only do so much, ya know? ;)
After that great workout, Hubby & I went to lunch @ Ruby Tuesday's! I had been looking forward to this for 24 hours now! We didn't care how we looked! We just wanted that wonderful salad bar! I figured that if I am going to splurge today ... what better way to splurge than @ the salad bar! (Man, how my perspectives have changed! 6 months ago it would have been Sonic tater tots with chili, cheese & ranch dressing! Or a Blizzard! Or Reece's cups!) Well, it was sooooooooo good! We are both as full as ticks, but we made healthy choices! Well, healthier choices than we could have made! ;) It feels great!
