Ok i Need advice :) I went to poundMelters a couple monthes ago and got Phendimetrazine. Its supposed to help curb hunger, but not make your heart race. (Not sure how true that is) I never even took them, im not really a diet pill kinda girl. But since I have them, should I try it? Or should I toss them? My problem is my portion control...sometimes i just cant get full no matter how much water i drink with my meal. So i eat the "correct" portion and am left hungry still, then get depressed or mad or whatever because i feel i have to be punished just to loose my weight. Anyway now im babbeling and whining lol sorry,i just want help to loose my weight without being depressed but i dont want to take something dangerous ya know?

So should i take them?? Or toss em??

I'm kinda cautious when it comes to diet pills. Something you can try is eating your salad before you eat your main course, see if that helps. Also for your starches, try to find ones that are full of fibre. Those tend to make you feel full longer.

I wouldn't take them if I were you. I took some before my wedding (I don't remember what kind) and they did make my heart race and I couldn't sleep and I think it made my metabolism worse after I stopped taking them because they mess with your hormones. Atkins is not a starvation diet. Fill up on protein and all the alloted vegetables. After the first 3-5 days if you stick to the plan your hunger will dissipate and you will have to remind yourself to eat. You won't be ruled by hunger any more. I know how you feel because before Atkins I felt "hungry" all the time. I understand now that it is part of the insulin cycle which is perpetuated by high carb foods. If you can quit carbs cold turkey and make it through the first week, you will feel a lot better and more in control. Insulin is only released when you are eating enough carbs and it causes you to feel hungry, by getting into ketosis you bypass the insulin cycle and you will gain control of your hunger. Hang in there. And toss those pills, you won't need them.

Although portion control is important, if you get hungry alot, you should concentrate on eating foods with volume. Protein and foods with high fiber content keep your stomach fuller, longer. Eat a cheese stick with a big apple. Sometimes we are thirsty but we think our body is telling us we are hungry. If you feel hungry, drink a big glass of water. If you are still hungry after that, choose foods that will fill you up for the least amount of calories. Keep away from processed foods, but if you have to have it, that's when portion control becomes important. I am not a fan of pills, but only you can decide what is right for you. I would try to fill up on foods that are healthy when you are hungry. Your stomach will get used to eating less food. Good luck!

Toss them. Anything but real change only is s temporary fix. Once you stop taking them, the same challenges will pop right back into your life.

I would definitely avoid the pills! The literature I just glanced over clearly labeled them as habit forming and the last thing anyone wants is to be addicted to diet pills.

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH SARARAY! I'm doing Atkins, eating real food, never going hungry, and i'm healthier and more energetic than I've ever been! about the pills; You're smart! I can see that you hesitate...and that speaks volumes!
