Densible's Journal, 19 October 2007

I joined this site this week after 6 weeks on my latest weight loss effort. I lost two pounds after 4 weeks of diet and exercise and gained one back this week. Very typical experience for me. I have been working on the same forty pounds for the last five years. At my best I lost 13 pounds, at my worst I have gained it back plus a few more for good measure. For the last 15 years I have "watched" my weight, after thirty years of maintaining a healthy and attractive weight with out any thought. When I was thirty two I was a long distance runner and felt great and was happy with my weight. I hav not run for a few years now due to failing joints. I was married 3 years ago and it tooks me 8 months to lose 15 pounds. That brought me within 15 pounds of my goal weight. I was disappointed then and now I feel utterly defeated. Went to the gym this morning, worked out for 70 minutes and had my weekly weigh-in. I was really anticipating a loss. Felt very confident and thought i looked thinner. My trainer thought so too. I had to comfort her, poor thing. Welcome to my world.. Had to leave before I lost it. I have been fighting the urge to give up. I decided to write my thoughts here rather than push them down with food.

There.
