Hey, this is GREAT! I get to have the fun of posting all about my vacation, and if YOU are bored, you can just click away from it!
DAY 3:
Saturday morning after playing with the jet-ski, we headed further up-lake, and got as far as the Dangling Rope Marina. Surprisingly, we hadn't used much gas in the houseboat, and the tank was still at about 3/4 full. We bought more ice and some marshmallows and headed out once again. Just as we left the marina, we noticed the clouds building again and realized we would have to move quickly to find a camp site before the storm materialized. We were hustling along and looked back to see the canyon the marina is in was being inundated by rain! We just dived for the first available canyon, where we found a nice, sandy beach this time, and we were able to anchor much more quickly -- our teamwork improved greatly! Jamie dug out a fire pit so we could have a campfire over which to cook the marshmallows! The storm passed over us rather quickly once again, and we had plenty of time to play with the jet-ski. The foods I had made ahead worked out very nicely, though it still seemed that getting dinner on the table was a lot of work. The guys all helped by cleaning up, though, so I got to sit then.
