Interesting... I have been told to eat more because my current plateau may be caused by "starvation mode".
I feel SO guilty when I go above 1000 calories. Plus I am used to a low intake - I've been doing it since early July.
It is disheartening to see the scale not moving. I used to look forward every night to stepping on the scale - now I feel trepidation.
I'll give it another week and try something different, although I have read that plateaus end eventually without having to change anything.
Wish me luck! :)

I have the same problem, I start to panic when I get close to 1000 calories even though I should be closer to 1200. I feel too stuffed to eat that much. I plateaued when I got to 160 and 150, it was so frustrating. But I do know when you eat a little more it is better I just dont feel better about it. You will get through it!!! Good luck!

How much exercise are you doing? The FDA recommends the average man eat 2000 calories per day, the average active man 2500. If you're eating 1000 calories or less per day you are definitely KILLING your metabolism. You need to feed your muscles in order to burn fat. Right now your body is in panic mode, hording fat and burning off precious muscle to maintain itself. Get your calories up to at least 1800 per day. At least. What people are telling you is true. There is a lot of knowledge out there to be had. Starving yourself doesn't get you fit, it hurts you in the end. Also weighing yourself every day is just a way to sabotage your efforts. You should weigh yourself at most 1 time per week, better once every month. Good luck.
